We have so much to be thankful for. Celebrating Thanksgiving on the mission field is different than celebrating it in America (at least it is to me). However, we can thank God for all His wonderful blessings wherever we are....even if we don't have all the "traditional" trimmings. The truths of "Thanksgiving" can be celebrated each and everyday in our hearts. I want to have a thankful heart and attitude everyday of the year. Psalms 92:1 "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:"

Andrew's 9th Birthday

Due to everyone being sick in our home, Andrew's birthday was celebrated a few days late. We enjoyed some delicious cup cakes with different kids of candy bars on top (Andrew's choice). Oh, of course, there was ice cream to go with it. Then Andrew had several presents to open. He also got a couple phone calls from family which always makes a birthday more special. Andrew is a great joy to us and we sure do like having him in our family.

A Challenge

Ron has been filling in for another missionary for the past three Sundays. He had a great message prepared each week, but this last week was the most challenging to me. He preached out of Joshua 6 - the battle of Jericho. Although this is a familiar story, it is nice to be reminded of the great truths it teaches us. Ron painted a picture of what the walls were like around Jericho. In our human eyes the Israelites had an impossible task. But God was with the Israelites. They followed His instructions and He gave the victory.

Why is it that so many times we think our problems are bigger than the walls of Jericho? We serve the same God that caused those walls to fall. I am so thankful for the reminder that God is bigger than our needs or problems. I Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Fun in the Snow!

It sure is hard to keep your mind on school when the snow is calling your name. So I (being the nice teacher that I am) let the kids go outside and play after lunch on Friday. Caleb didn't even take his nap - he was having such a good time. The weather was perfect - cold enough for it to snow, but not too cold to have fun!

Great job on the snowman!

Caleb is trying to catch the snowflakes in his mouth...silly boy.

Enjoying a cup of hot chocolate....YUMMY!!

Many Blessings

God has been so good to us! Two weeks ago we moved into a new apartment. We didn't have much in the way of choices - just two actually. But God definitely gave us a peace about the one we chose. We are getting settled in and are really liking it here. I will try to post some pictures soon.
Another blessing is that the boys all have their residency cards. Yesterday Ron registered us at our new address which was very quick and easy (very different from Russia).
I am also excited about some of the great things I have found at the thrift stores recently - snow pants, boots, coats, etc. It is such a blessing to find things at awesome prices!
Ministry Blessing: Ron has been asked to teach English for a non-profit organization. We hope this will open the door for some contacts for Bible Study. I have also had a lady ask me to help her with her English - she promised to help me with my Russian in return.
Ron has been looking for a place to meet and hold Bible studies. Please pray with us that Ron will find the right place at the right price.
