Christmas festivities

Christmas brings lots of excitement at our house.  At the beginning of December we start listening to Christmas music, set up our tree, and plan special Christmas activities.

Sugar cookies!
Making and decorating sugar cookies is something we do each year.  The kids love rolling, cutting, baking, and decorating.  Mostly they like sampling the broken cookies and sneaking licks of the icing.

Making Christmas cookies is a fun family tradition that makes a disaster of my entire kitchen.  I enjoy watching the kids and their creativity with the icing and sprinkles.  Want to know what else I like?  They are all old enough to help clean up my kitchen :)

Christmas Party

We kicked off our Christmas break from school with a fun evening of games, finger food, and a Christmas movie.  A favorite activity was Christmas mad lib.  There were a lot of laughs as we read each person's story.

My kids love to get to talk with family - especially cousins - on Skype.  During Christmas break my kids enjoyed a special treat of visiting with their cousins in the states.

Ice Skating
Of course ice skating is a must each year. This year we drove down to Tartu and let the kids skate at the indoor mall.  Ron and I watched from the side sipping our chai and coffee.

After skating we did some Christmas shopping before returning home.
